01 / someone you spend a lot of time with:
02 / a picture of you:
(I guess Devin was doing something weird.)
03 / a random picture of you and your sig. other:
Well, there are very few pictures with both Jene and I in them. There are even fewer with just Jene and I in them – in fact, I think there might only be one, and it’s a bad ‘eating Christmas lunch outside in humid weather’ photo. So here is one of a reflection of us instead, taken by my sister.
04 / a picture of something that makes you happy:
05 / an old picture of you:
2007, I think. Long before I had a proper camera. I’m supposed to wear glasses to read. I’m supposed to be wearing them right now. But the ones I picked – those ones – are too small, and I’m constantly looking either under or over them. I need big, round ones.
06 / a picture of your sibling:
The younger younger sister. We look very similar, so much so that I’ve even looked at a picture of her and thought it was me (it was upside down, to be fair). There was less confusion when I cut my hair, but then she cut her super-long hair off, too. Jene has started talking to her thinking she was me. Now, unless she decides to dye her hair orange, too, the difference is pretty obvious. Not to mention the fact that she’s about 2 sizes smaller than me.
07 / a picture you never posted on your blog before:
08 / a picture of a person you miss:
The younger sister. She’s just moved away to university. Devin is especially attached to her.
09 / a picture of people who know you now and then:
I’m really bad at keeping friends. Here’s a picture of my parents.
10 / a picture of your favourite place:
This is just a hidden place by the creek in our former town of residence. I haven’t been on many holidays, and I’ve had trouble feeling connected and at home in the places I’ve lived. I don’t have a favourite place, but there are certain parts of certain places that I like.
11 / a person you can tell everything to:
I don’t think there would ever be a person on Earth I would tell everything to, because one, I can’t find the words, and two, I’m more comfortable keeping some things to myself. But, if there was someone close to that… I’m sure he wishes I would keep some whinging to myself.
12 / a picture of your everyday life:
13 / a picture from a place you love:
14 / a picture that reminds you of great times:
15 / a picture from the best day of your life:
I’d excuse my appearance, but I’d just given birth to a baby. I think some slack can be given.
16 / a picture (or four) that always makes you laugh:
Such an angry, angry beard.
(He’s not in the bag – he pulled it over himself.)
17 / a photo from a great night:
My mum and I at my uncle’s 40th birthday. I drove almost 8 hours by myself with Devin to get there. It was the first time Devin had met that side of my family, the first time I’d seen them in over two years, and the first time I’d really had a social night since before I was pregnant. It was just nice for me to be around a bunch of people I knew, coming from a town where I knew no one.
18 / a picture of someone you always have a good time with:
(What? I like my own company.)
19 / a picture of your parents when they were your age: Most of our stuff is packed in boxes in my parents’ garage, and that includes all of my data discs with almost all of my photos from before 2009. I.O.U. one picture, blog.
20 / a picture of you on a favourite vacation: Haha! What’s a vacation?
21 / a random picture from photobooth:
I don’t have a Mac, but I do have a webcam. Explosive humidity hair, and Jene’s t-shirt.
22 / a picture of you as a baby: See answer to number 19.
23 / a picture of your favourite band/musician
The Mars Volta
24 / your Facebook profile picture
25 / a picture of something you don’t miss
The shitty unit we lived in in 2009. I can’t even list everything that was wrong with it. As you can see, it’s a house that was converted into four units. The open door was our ‘front door’. The wooden door on the right was the next unit, occupied by the worst neighbours ever. They had friends over every day, and they were always hanging around the front lawn. Often their friends would walk along that wall, waiting for them to get home. Yeah, that wall about three feet from our front room. Where I breastfed Devin. Nice.
26 / Let’s be honest, I post a fair few pictures on here, and I don’t have a terribly interesting life. I can’t think of anything else specific right now, so I’ll leave it there. Unfinished. Like most things I start.
